Life on a FOB, yippee. A little drab at times. But the food is good the work is a challenge. Motivation is high. Oh yeah and I even got to watch the Eagles beat the Vikes. Good times.
If the commute wasn't half way around the world this wouldn't be so bad. it would be nice to spend some time with the Girls and Erica, talking on Skype is nice but it isn't being there.
I can only say the sacrifices appear to be worth the effort the Afghans are good people who deserve a little peace.

  1. Karl - wishing you a Happy New Year!!! It looks like the Giants and Eagles will settle it once and for all this weekend. Unfortunately for you and other Eagle fans it will end like it does so often with the Giants victorious and your Dad making another trip to the beer distributor. I know that the Eagles, and Klaus won in December, but even the blind squirrel gets a nut once in a while. In an ironic twist Amey actually roots for the Eagles but she is young and as she gets older she will see the err of her ways and find her way to the Blue side. Big Blue Baby!!! Hope all is well.

  2. Hey Karl, Happy New Year sounds like things are going good over there. From you blog and reading online Khandahar has changed alot since I was there. I must agree with you that the Afghans are good people. I like and respect them so much more than the Iraqi arabs. Take care.
