Grandmom and Opa are here!!! After a couple of days adjusting to the time difference (and Grandmom struggling with strep throat), we've started to explore the island. Yesterday we went to Okinawa World, a condensed cultural version of the Ryuku Islands. Everyone had their favorite parts. The kids loved the almost mile long limestone cave filled with tons of stalagmites and stalactites, especially protecting a scared Opa. Their other favorite was the mongoose/habu water race; where both animals are dropped into a tube of water and must swim to the other side in order to be rescued. They enjoyed betting Opa and Grandmom loved the lively Eisa dancers, unique to Okinawa. http://www.rhythmuseum.com/japanese/Eisa.html. Carolyn also mentioned her favorite part of the day was loosing her second tooth :)
Today we're going to Carolyn's soccer game and exploring the beaches and playgrounds a bit more. We leave Monday morning for four days in Kyoto. We'll post more pictures and stories then.

That's a cool place, be sure to also check out RyuKyu Mura if you get a chance. I like it better than Okinawa World myself.
